Layout cont.

I used photoshop filters as well as exposure tools to create the black and white contrast. To color the leave I used paintbucket. I chose to do very little to warp the picture because I was very pleased with the original.

day cut

She wakes up in the morning
and kisses him good night

walks down to the kitchen
and pulls out a knife

He wakes up in the evening
his morning is her night

walks down to the kitchen
and pulls out a knife

John C

Works out of town
then comes back to his grounds

where no one is around
it makes poor johnny frown

He sits all alone
and waits by his phone

and listens for the tone
sure beats being alone

Now johnny he was kind
happiness was on his mind

Although he could never find
he always could make mine

something new "friends"

When you don’t know you
But pretend that you do

let's say love's a promise
And that I love you

but I don’t know you, and you don't know you too

you say that you do
but your only confused

What's not clear to me
seems very clear to you

feeling weird and confused
tell me what is the use...

who are you miss blue eyes?

MODERNISM

This design in my opinion is awsome. Modernism is said to be very inforlmal with organizing space, and I would agree to an extent that this design matches that description, but it seems less abstract than most Modernist designs I have come across. If you look at the various design I have chosen below you will notice that many are created by the same artist. I chose these designs because of their ability to speak to the veiwer. They all are very contriversal and moving in my opinion. I would say they have left the biggest impact on me through out this assignment.

INTERNATIONAL TYPOGRAPHIC STYLE

Now I am not exactly sure what "subway posters score" is, but I do not think that takes away from the clarity of the designs objective. I chose this design because of its asymetrical organization and simplicity. It also seems to have a mathematically organized grid feel. The colors add to the symplicity. The use of negative space catches the eye.

CONSTRUCTIVISM

The design is is very abstract and visually geometrical and stable. It is so simple and flat. The used of negative space increases the boldness of the objects in the image.
-Very cool.

BAUHAUS

The form of this picture definetly follows its function. It is very practical and easy to veiw. The building is very geometrical and sturdy, which creates the image of stillness and simplicity. This picture is seeminly a less creative approach of Bauhaus but speeks so boldly and can not be ignored because of its truth.

ART NOUVEAU

The design is very delicate and reminds me of Romanticism. There are many curves in the design that make the picture kind of complex, but I think the used of negative space balances the design to make it rather simplistic and easy to view. I don't care much for a majority of Art Nouveau pictures I came across; very boring. I do really admire the tree design in my selection of five below.

ART DECO

The design is composed of mainly strait lines, with the exception of a few curves. It is very flat and geometrical and looks sophisticated. I chose this image because it followed the "rules" of traditional Art Deco design.

Class Participation

I enjoyed being part of this project and learning some of the basics of photoshop. I am now more than ever firmiliar with the rule of thirds and its importance in design. I also now recognize the importance of a rough draft and how it is very helpful in creating a final product.

Objective success

Both designs show significant ballance through the use of negative space. In this case I learned that negative space is as valuable as the words presented. I used the rule of thirds to display my five selected words. The projects "Green" theme could be presented in many forms and my selection of words chosen fit the criteria.

Successful Visual Communication

The Asymetrical design uses the word HOME as a focal point that forces the eye to begin observation. After the focal point is recognized the eye then follows the design in a spiral rhythm returning the veiwer back to the focal point. Negative space in the design seems to create rhythm and ballance that allows the veiwer to comfortable walk through the design without distraction. The word HOME is written at a larger scale and is used as the focal point because it represent our planet Earth and without Earth the other words in the design would not exist to human life form as we know it. Most of all the design creates unity through ballance, proportion and simplicity.
The Symetrical design unifies it's words through well ballanced simplicity and scale. Negative space adds a great deal of simplicity and ballance as well. The proximity of the words surrounding HUMAN seem to create the illusion of a box. The design is basic and easy on the eyes.

That all I really want is happiness for you and me...
